Storm Chaser Rescues Family After Their Home Is Destroyed

Last week, a storm chaser in West Texas not only caught video of a huge tornado hitting Hawley, Texas, but he also ended up rescuing a family of four whose home got destroyed by it. In a tense video, storm chaser Freddy McKinney is heard shouting at the family to hurry inside as they flee for their lives, pleading for his help.

Kasey and Wes Lambert and their two young children survived the ordeal, but sustained injuries like cuts, bruises, and broken bones. Kasey recounts their terrifying experience when they took shelter inside a closet, praying for safety as their house collapsed around them, and the incredible wind tossed her son Lane 25 feet.

After the tornado passed, the Lamberts quickly found their son, who had miraculously survived and ran to McKinney for help to get to the hospital. They are deeply grateful to be alive and for the support they’ve received from the community as they recover and start rebuilding their home, one of many destroyed by the storm.
