(Cleveland) - It appears a murdered Cleveland Clinic nurse was targeted.
Chief Michael McGrath has told NewsChannel 5 that he does not believe anyone else in the public is in danger, despite no arrest in the case.
Cleveland-based forensic science consultant Gary Rini believes this indicates the victim was attacked by someone who knew her, and that retribution or anger was the motive.
Fifty-three-year-old Aliza Sherman of Beachwood was found lying in a pool of blood Sunday evening near the Galleria at Erieview Mall.
Sherman was stabbed 11 times. The mother of four was reportedly visiting her lawyer downtown in regards to her divorce procedings.
Rini tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 that police are probably focusing on Sherman's closest contacts to see if she had any trouble with her associates.
Rini feels what few clues there are so far indicate this may be a "rage" killing, one so emotional the attacker went far beyong the normal effort to cause death.
Gary Rini is an internationally recognized forensic science consultant who provides critical case reviews and evaluation of homicide cases. His clients have inluded the U.S. Government.
