(Strongsville) - U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown will rally support for striking teachers in Strongsville this afternoon.
SEA President Tracy Linscott says she will also be making a formal announcement regarding future negotiations. North Eastern Ohio Education Association (NEOEA) President Mary Alice Conkey will also speak at the rally.
“We are honored and privileged to have Senator Brown speak about the importance of a strong public education system in Strongsville,” says Linscott.
Brown and members of the Strongsville Education Association will gather at 1:30 at the town square gazebo at Royalton and Pearl Roads.
The teachers have been on strike since March 4 and there appears to be no end in sight in the dispute.
No new talks with a federal mediator are shceduled, and the teachers and district are still far apart on a variety of key issues.
Replacement teachers have been instructing Strongsville School teachers in the absence of the regular teachers.
