(Lorain) -- Michelle Knight and the parents of Gina DeJesus made a public appearance over the weekend at Lorain’s second annual Hispanic Heritage Parade.

Knight, one of the three women kidnapped, raped, and held for ten years on Cleveland’s west side by Ariel Castro, told the crowd, "Anything is possible with the love of God."

Meanwhile, Felix DeJesus told the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram that his daughter, Gina, is taking classes to earn her GED, and that they are taking baby steps in helping with her emotional recovery.

He also said his family was surprised by Castro’s recent suicide in prison.
