Though O.J. Simpson's lawyer refuted claims that his children were present during his final moments, he did offer that Simpson died in the presence of a “close family member.” Malcolm LaVergne emphasized the love Simpson's children had for their father, acknowledging their lifelong sharing of him with the world, both in good and bad times. In the days leading up to his death, LaVergne says Simpson engaged in lively conversations with him, with their last discussion occurring just before Easter at Simpson's home.

Following Simpson's death, there were reports that his children rushed to be by his side, but LaVergne clarified that they were not present during his final moments. Simpson's final wishes included being cremated, with the process expected to be finalized this week based on his children's consensus. The infamous football player passed away from prostate cancer.
