Tampa, Florida, solid waste truck driver David Llanos was recently honored for his quick thinking and compassion when he helped a mother find her lost toddler. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor presented him with the Life Changer Award for helping a distraught mother he came upon while on his route on March 19th.
Llanos stopped his truck and joined in on the search for the missing child, successfully locating him a block away from home. He then reunited the toddler with his relieved and grateful mother. Solid Waste Director Larry Washington also commended the driver for his heroic actions, saying that they reflect the team's dedication to the community and their role as first responders.
