Sending a text or Googling something on your phone is probably something you do without really thinking about it, but others may be silently taking notes. While we may not pay much attention to the way we type on our phones, it could be revealing how old you are, or at least which generation you belong to, according to one millennial.
TikToker Tyler Morgan recently shared a video breaking down the different ways people type on their phones at different ages.
- He claims that the âswipe to textâ group is mostly millennial.
- Those who can âtype fast and accurately with one handâ - or really just one thumb - are âpreteen to age 25,â Tyler says.
- People who type quickly with both thumbs are also in that age bracket, but he says people type like this through their mid-30s.
- According to Tyler, people continue using their thumbs, but with declining speed, until theyâre in their 50s, and then they add the index finger âunnecessarily.â
- He explains that after about age 65, people start just tapping each key individually with the index finger.
- Tyler says itâs âimpressiveâ when people hold their phone landscape to type but calls out anyone who types with an index finger on one hand and a thumb on the other, which he says âjust feels wrong.â
