Jake is a fun and curious dog that we are estimating to be around 2.5-3 years old; and a mix of Husky / Boxer. Currently he is around 50 pounds and should stay on the medium size. He has beautiful unique coloring and a 'forever puppy' face and expressions.
Jake has beautiful ice-blue eye's that will steal your heart when you look into them. Jake is loving and affectionate with humans, is friendly with cats and LOVES other dogs! Jake really enjoys the company, interaction, play time and activity of other canine friends. He's currently being fostered with 3 other dogs and just adores their companionship. Jake would love an active, playful canine brother or sister in his future home.
If you are looking for a playful friend for your current dog...Jake is the man for the job!
Jake loves life and appreciates every moment. He has a smile that never goes away, energy that will infect others and silly antics that will make anyone laugh. Jake is a bundle of happy energy and truly has an innocent, youthful spirit and he chooses to make the most out of everyday.
Now, who wouldn't want a friend like that???
Jake would love a fenced yard to run and play in. He loves to run in circles and wishes someone could clock his speed! This is a great outlet for his energy and if you like playing fetch or spending some time outdoors- he's a great friend to do that with. Jake has an innate love for the game of chase. So car rides can be a challenge if bikes or motorcycles go by; same with walks and this needs understanding and careful management of Jake for safety reasons. Jake loves to go for walks and hikes in the park but has the desire to pull from his Husky heritage, so becoming compatible walking partners will take a little effort. But he certainly is a great motivator to get outdoors and exercise!
Jake is house trained, crate trained and knows a variety of basic commands. He is very intelligent and his brain is always working. He has the potential to learn much more and loves mental stimulation. Making up fun games that will challenge Jake's mind is a great way to keep him happy and entertained. Playing a game of search and find, obstacle courses or agility, teaching different tricks or commands are all fun things to experience with Jake. Now despite his natural energy, Jake does enjoy his down time too. He is happy to lay and lounge next to you for some TV time. He's a great companion to hang around as you do yard work or keep you company as you do household chores. He's never far from your side and loves to be the loyal company that everyone desires.
Jake does well with cats and is currently living with them in his foster home. While Jake is cat friendly, he does occasionally try to play with them and can be overwhelming at times for older or less confident cats. But MHAF consultants are great resources to help with the introduction and transition of bringing Jake into a home with feline friends. home.
Jake would not do well with little kids, because of his energy level and occasional rough-play; but Jake does wonderfully with kids around 12yrs and older. Jake would fit in great with a home of teenagers and would provide endless companionship to any family.
As you can tell, Jake has ALOT to offer and really is full of love and life. Give him that happy ending he's waiting for!
